Robe Beer Festival

The Robe Home Brew & Craft Beer Festival will take place this year on Saturday, September 17th and Sunday, September 18th, 2016.

For homebrewerRBFEST 2016 posters keen on joining in on the fun, you better get brewing, or sample some of your archived beers to see which ones might be worth entering the contest. Entry forms available here: RHB2016 entry form  or here: http://www.robe.com.au/events. Entries to be submitted by September 2nd, 2016.

The beer fest in Robe is not only for the brewers, its also for the tasters and the whole family!

After having spent the day judging homebrew entries, the festival’s beer judges will join in on an open darts comp at the Caledonian Inn, on Friday evening, September 16th.

The Saturday will kick off with talks and demonstrations open for all at the Robe Institute: Troubleshooting failures and faults in brewing by Stephen Nelsen, brewing lecturer at the Regency TAFE in Adelaide; Cooking with wagyu beef and beer by Mark Wright from Mayura Station; and a brief insight into a few interesting Historic brewing methods by Maris Biezaitis from Robe Town Brewery.

The Institute, effectively Robe’s town hall, will be surrounded by a quaint village-scale beer garden with at least four different craft breweries serving and selling their products, as well as stalls selling wine, mead and cider from the local region. the local coffee roastery will be serving coffees and local catering businesses will be cooking up a plentiful feast. Beverages for children and drivers will also be available.

The afternoon will see announcements and prizes handed out to homebrew contest winning entries, with most of the entries also made available for public tasting.

Most venues in Robe will welcome festival attendees for beer themed dinner and drinks later in the evening , while plentiful accommodation around town, including special discounts at the Discovery Holiday Park, will allow for a comfortable overnight stay.

The festival’s second main day will be held at Robe Town Brewery. After a relaxing (late) breakfast or brunch in one of the town’s many fine establishments, come on down and spend a while at the Sunday Session at the Brewery, where you can soak up the atmosphere with a brewery tour, tasting paddles of many fine ales from our outdoor bar, gourmet bbq and funky music all day long.
